Equipment Service, Maintenance, and Repair

Makerspace IT Environment White Paper

Makerspaces usually contain both old and new technologies that can be difficult to integrate into the existing IT network without guidance. The 1MS Service Team will work directly with you to integrate new technologies like 3D printers, laser cutters, 3D scanners, and drones into the existing IT environment. Our expert team has over 40+ years of IT service experience.

Read our white paper below for general guidance of things to consider when implementing educational technology in a makerspace.

Service Agreements

Why wait for your 3D printers, laser cutters, and other makerspace equipment to break before fixing it? 1st Maker Space offers equipment service agreements exclusively for clients and equipment sold by 1MS.

Our service agreement includes both phone and on-site technical support to solve any service and user problems that may arise for 12 months. Laser Cutter service agreements also include an annual on-site preventative maintenance visit to calibrate the laser cutter and ensure it is in good working order. All service agreements are valid for 12-month terms and automatically renew for up to three years.

Let 1st Maker Space take the headache of diagnosing and fixing equipment, so you can get back to teaching!

Equipment Training

3D Printers, laser cutters, 3D scanners, and CNC machines can be complex to operate and intimidating for novices! 1st Maker Space has dedicated expert Equipment Technicians on staff to train educators how to safely operate and maintain equipment in the makerspace.

All training sessions are by appointment only and are usually scheduled on the day of delivery and installation. Equipment training sessions can also be scheduled for refresher sessions or new staff members.

Equipment training sessions take 2-hours per piece of equipment, and all users should bring a laptop or Chromebook to the training session. A sample Equipment Training Session Agenda is located below.
