TeacherGeek Hydraulic Arm Activity
Using the power of hydraulics, create your own robotic arm to clean your room, grab a snack, stack blocks, play checkers, or arm wrestle! This arm is "basic," featuring six cylinders (three to move the arm + three to form the control panel). Incorporate recycling bin materials, 3D prints, or use the included parts to make the arm's grabber. Three different engineering challenges are available for download. Optionally learn about pressure, Pascal's Law, hydraulics/pneumatics, mechanical advantage and more with the Fluid Power Lab. Pack contains all the components you need, but TeacherGeek tool sets are required for student use. Lesson plans available for grades 3-8.
